Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee (Amazon's buyer protection program)
Amazon's buyer protection program. A customer who believes their order was damaged, not as described, or undelivered may file an A-to-Z claim directly with Amazon. Amazon adjudicates the claim and may refund the customer and debit the seller's account regardless of the seller's returns policy. A-to-Z claim outcomes against the seller count toward Order Defect Rate.
Amazon buyer protection mechanism. A buyer who does not receive their order or receives an item materially different from described can file an A-to-Z claim. Amazon may refund the buyer and charge the seller. Food is non-returnable but A-to-Z claims are still possible.
US only or North America unified
Amazon's proprietary search ranking algorithm. Determines which products appear and in what order for a given customer search query. Ranking factors include relevance (keyword match), conversion rate, sales velocity, and review count and rating.

Modern irrigation and pruning practices reduce but do not eliminate the cycle. Most major Mediterranean producers entered an "on" year in 2024/25 and a moderate "off" year in 2025/26.

Economically valuable because establishment cost is fully amortized, root systems access deep soil water, and fruit polyphenol profiles differ from those of young intensive plantations. Represented in Morocco by Picholine Marocaine groves and in Tunisia by Sfax-region plantations. Not replicable through capital investment on human planning timescales.
